So, it's almost 6am. With my current sleep schedule that I apparently can't escape, it's kinda like 10pm to me. Which is good, cause I'm fairly tipsy still and still drinking. this also explains the subject matter.

I'm listening to one of Logan's podcasts, the one with Justin (Faelar/Z to my larping friends who aren't from up north) talking about plotting and NERO. I'm working on NERO stuff, mostly staff points for stuff to buy for Bixli and Risten, but also dreams for a plot at Indy as well as Coppers' and Silvers' new game for next event (which will be fucking sweet). with my current state and the fact that I've used surround sound speakers in my room, it sounds like Justin is in my room talking to me about NERO while I work on NERO. It's kinda creepy...

So, the good news? I made $110 in tips today. not my record, but it was the busiest day I've every worked as a server. Everyone today was so fucking cheap. $2 on a $50 meal? Fuck You! I felt dirty for being happy to get 10% from a table today. Everyone went out to take their sweety or family out for a meal. Some of them landed at my BBQ restaurant. Most of those who did could not afford a girl friend. seriously. This post might have had way more wit and angry boy comments before I started drinking to forget all you chumps. But The root of the problem remains. Don't be so fucking cheap that you can't leave at least a standard tip when I bust my ass getting shit for you for an hour that you can't at least leave 15%. That's the fucking standard you douche. Not 5%. Not 10%. but 15%. I got your food, I got your drinks, and I stopped by to see if you needed anything in the world every 5-10 minutes. You practically owe the sex your getting tonight to me. Don't stiff me on the tip. Next time, I'll be sure to remember you you prick. I'll see if I can hook you up with "Something special" from the cook staff. See how you like that.

Seriously though. Double shift today. should have made $200 with the crowds we had. But everyone but 6 of my tables were douches who couldn't afford to eat out.

If you eat out, include what you're giving your server in the price tag. Douche. If you can't tip, you can't afford to eat.

I worked this morning, along with all my buddies from work. The big Thanksgiving buffet at the catering center. there was at least 2-3 Hosts per server, so I should have made somewhere around $50-60 in tip out at least. plus my wages. Not bad, though I doubt any of us made more per hour than usual...

I suppose it's not that bad missing a family thanksgiving. Just got a voicemail from my mom. I'm sitting at home now, cozy and relaxing with a stack of movies, a six pack of hard cider, and a good gallon of tea. Plus my fabulous thanksgiving meal for $12. instant potatoes, stove top stuffing, cranberry sauce, cheesecake, and a huge smoked turkey legs, like half my plate huge. Back at home, Mom has a stomach bug (possibly the same one I had last week). Diane has it too so no family get together like normal. I suppose they finally got tired of the entire family getting everyone else sick for this holiday. Susan and Vernon are headed to Florida apparently, so no Thanksgiving in Southern Illinois like previously planned... I could be having the best holiday out of the family right now. an hour ago I though it was the worst. funny how that happens.

Now if only there were more people to hang out with tonight...

Got an interesting job at a local BBQ place. My managers are really cute, so that helps :p Been making some money and getting on me feet. Hung out with Amanda and Kerry at a few local bars a couple of times. Haven't made too many new friends yet and been kind of bored, but it's not bad. I really like the town and everything.

Not too much to report on unfortunately. Eventually when things get rolling it'll be a lot more interesting I'm sure.

The Free Agent

You like to be independent, to play by your own rules. You're not terribly interested in finding a partner and settling down, and it makes you nervous to imagine that someone might depend on you for anything. Were you to find the right partner--someone as independent as you, probably--you'd not be too put out about sharing your adventures with him/her.

The Queen's Rook

The Queen’s Rook is a pensive, analytical individual. They don’t mind spending long periods of time on their own to work through problems. They may venture so far into thought they appear vacant or detached; often they really are oblivious of the world at that moment. These wayward princes are precise about descriptions and by habit correct others (or feel sorely tempted) if the shade of meaning is slightly off. This is annoying to the less concise, but this is what gives the Queen’s Rook a gift for gab, especially in writing.

This Rook is relatively easy going until their principles of truth, knowledge and justice are violated. Because of this they hate the formalities of bureaucracy, politics, and authority – which tend to mask the truth of operations. They will respond with a flip of the switch and become outspoken and inflexible. They will eventually drop the issue, because they do prefer a reserved and benign ambiance. The problem with the Queen’s Rook is when they are debating a point; they may be convincing themselves as much as their opponent. They spend a considerable amount of time second-guessing their abilities and may come to multiple conclusions that offer plausible solutions.

An indicator that a friend may be a Queen’s Rook is an obsession with logic. If a mistake is made, it is because there wasn’t enough data or it was placed out of context. Another indicator you’re friend is a Rook, throw a strategy game at them. They enjoy Risk, Bridge, Chess, and word games. Never rush the Rook. They don’t draw conclusions very quickly. If one were to gather a bunch of Rooks together to form a group they may debate:

1.) Whether or not there should be a group.

2.) Exactly what name should the proposed group choose?

3.) Which of the persons in the group should take responsibility or should they rotate?

Risten

Hakama=Done
Kimono=Done, but the white lining looks a little shoddy. not too bad for homemade though.
Haori= in progress, but possibly done by the end of the night

I probably want to make some neat weapons for Risten, something curved that will look cool on my side. I need to make a polearm too. But Risten will look way cooler than Bixli ever has :p Minus the goggles, those are just pimp. oh, and minus Bixli's deputy hat.

Now I just have to get in shape again so Risten doesn't seem fat. :p Despite being black this outfit will be nice in the summertime. wish I was likely to play him before winter...

Sewing Time

Well, the Hakama is done I suppose. Didn't turn out half bad after all my corrections. I would feel better about it if I didn't know what all I had to do to get it this way. My instructions were god awful. I suppose they're fine if you've actually sewn one before, but if I had I wouldn't have been looking for instructions. Not positive how it's going to fit over the kimono though, it is a bit tight in the crotch. Not sure if it's supposed to be or not, but i think I can definitely tell I'm a good 3 inches bigger than the average Japanese guy.... though now that it's on it's actually pretty comfortable. A lot of that may be the comfy fabric i used. we'll just see if it cuts off circulation to anything important :p

I need to get some real sewing pins before I try to make the kimono. Also, I  would still like to make that new packet bag for when my secondary char can cast formal. It won't be too long that I will be needing a butt ton of packets and I don't want to carry that big bag around with me everywhere. I'm attempting that from scratch, so we'll see how it works out if I can decide on how to make the top part.

Doused it with saline solution to try to flush anything out in it.

Guests demand me to bend over backwards because they can't afford to travel, or can't check to see if something is just unplugged, or just can't be bothered to look around their room for something.

Can't wait for this weekend. Hopefully I can stand to have my eyes open while I'm at NERO.

Yeah, I know how good bacon is. but really, you pay for it when you're cooking it. It's like, 80% fat which means it'll spit so much hot grease at you while you're cooking it that you'll wish you had never heard of bacon before.

It's still damn tasty though.

Working at a Hotel

Kicked some douchebag out tonight. had the cops called on him and everything. We bent over backwards for this family yesterday to help them find this funeral home, they were here for a funeral of all things. First thing you need to understand: We can't touch a guest's personal things. safety issue for both them and the hotel. If nothing is ever touched then a house keeper can't steal it. Removes the liability if the guest misplaces something and insists that we took it. Today he didn't get housekeeping service because every two feet is an article of clothing or a baby toy or Something. He came up around 5-6 (when I was doing 4 things at once of course) wanting to know why his room wasn't clean. He was in a too big a hurry for me to look and find out what was going on so left before I found that there was stuff all over the room. I go down there and sure enough that's why it hadn't been cleaned. He came up around 10 to bitch me out cause I hadn't personally cleaned it for him (for the same reason the housekeeper hadn't) and I attempted to explain it. He because even more beligerent than he was before, cussed me out and slammed doors. I told him I was kicking him after having to deal with that asshole over this shit out and he he flew off the handle even more and threatened to "rip my head of and roll it down the hill". Obviously cops were called and he was kicked out. Of course, we don't have a camera or microphone up here so we couldn't press charges on him. But in any case, I kicked a dick head out of his room tonight.

I'm really starting to hate working at a hotel on weeks like this. Nobody but these asshats are traveling.

I truly hate Investment Realty. Roofers showed up today. I guess Investment decided we needed a new roof or repairs, or that they needed to do something to justify the $30 raise in rent that this apartment isn't worth. So while I'm asleep, and poor Lindaman is in the middle of his "night" they show up to start hammering and nailing shit to the roof. The best part about this is, like the deck railing last year, there gave zero advanced warning. Just randomly I have someone sitting by my window fucking with the roof. Sadly when we actually need something fixed it's like pulling teeth. grrr.

Calico bean soup will make me feel better... just 4 more hour til it's done.
